COGNIA ACCREDITATION

Cognia (formerly AdvancED) is USA based and it is the largest education accrediting body in the world, accrediting more than 32,000 schools involving more than 20 million students in many countries. Its accreditation incorporates accreditation from three of the six accreditation commissions recognized by the USA national government. Cognia accreditation includes accreditation by:

  • North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA) Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement
  • Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWAC) Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement
  • Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS) Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement

During the 2015-2016 school year, all Maple Leaf high schools underwent an external accreditation process with Cognia. The schools, their staff, students and parents were all engaged in an internal self assessment against a set of rubrics that reflect best practice in the field of education, instruction, and school organization. These results were analyzed with those assessed by Cognia’s external inspection teams. The results were successful accreditation of all high schools, and this sets the journey for a five-year growth plan to continue to enhance the strong practices in the schools as well as focus on the areas that would enhance the schools to thrive going forward.

Since then, Maple Leaf Educational Systems has also achieved Cognia accreditation for:

  • All Maple Leaf Elementary and Middle (as well as High) Schools
  • Maple Leaf Corporate Systems
  • Maple Leaf World Schools Curriculum
