Roadshow and Promotion

Visiting Five Countries to Launch the Roadshow


From October 13, 2019, Dr. Sherman Jen and two of his colleagues set off from China, traveled non-stop for three weeks, travelled to 22 cities in 5 countries including Australia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the Netherlands; visited 33 universities and 4 accreditation agencies, and held 37 roadshows and related meetings.


During the promotion tour to 11 universities in Australia, Dr. Sherman Jen and his team not only completed the set tasks, but also gained additional information. A number of university colleagues suggested that if the Maple Leaf World School Program can be recognized by Ecctis and benchmarked with the UK A Level curriculum, the global reputation would be enhanced, and university recognition would be obtained sooner. Dr. Sherman Jen then decided to adopt this suggestion.


In the UK, Dr. Jen led a team to promote the Maple Leaf World School Program to some of the world-ranking top 10 universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, and University College London. In the EU, the team introduced the program to Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, The Hague University of Applied Sciences (HHS), and the Lausanne Hotel Management School (EHL) in Switzerland.


The roadshow to 33 universities in Europe and Australia was an important part of the global promotion of the Maple Leaf World School Program. The North American rollout of the program by Superintendent James Beeke was also going well as planned. Maple Leaf International Schools have more than 20 years of practical experience in international education and have graduated tens of thousands of high school students who have attended universities around the globe. Maple Leaf Education has established a global brand and with a large market influence.


The roadshow team successfully received 27 support letters for Maple Leaf World School Program from the visited universities and has since then, received 113 support letters from universities around the world.

Promotions to Chinese Universities


In April 2021, the promotion of Maple Leaf World School Program to Chinese universities was officially launched. Dr. Sherman Jen led a team of five to promote The Maple Leaf World School Program to prestigious universities in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.


The team went to Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Foreign Studies University, China Agricultural University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Foreign Affairs University, and other famous universities to promote the Maple Leaf World School Program, which was well-received and highly recognized by these well-known universities. Dr. Sherman Jen and the international colleges/academies of the above universities signed cooperation agreements to admit Maple Leaf World School graduates. The China Agricultural University in particular gave two recommended places to Maple Leaf graduates.


The first domestic roadshow lasted for 10 days, and a total of 16 prestigious schools signed cooperation agreements.


The Chinese universities with whom Maple Leaf Educational Systems signed Agreements, are all prestigious universities listed in the national "985" and "211" Project categories. Most of these universities have "2+2" or "1+3" joint programs with foreign universities. Their majors include science, engineering, business management, social sciences, and arts, all of which are taught in English. International partner universities include the University of Glasgow, University of Manchester, Durham

University, Coventry University, Newcastle University, University of the West of England, Cardiff University, University of Liverpool, and the University of Miami and others. Students complete their studies and receive degrees from foreign universities.

Promotion within the Maple Leaf Systems


In April 2021, Maple Leaf Educational Systems launched the promotion of Maple Leaf World School Program within the Maple Leaf Systems, aiming to deepen employees' understanding of the MLWSP, build consensus and amplify curriculum advantages.


In May 2021, Maple Leaf Educational Systems executives, department directors, school heads and principals collectively learned more about the Maple Leaf World School Program and examined the learning outcomes through presentations and speeches during the public promotion sessions.


Beginning from end of May 2021, Maple Leaf Educational Systems has been releasing five Maple Leaf World School Program Forum Memoranda to share the views of China experts and new highlights that demonstrate the stunning effect of Maple Leaf World School Program in the international education sector.


In September 2021, Maple Leaf Educational Systems made the decision that all staff should collectively receive training on the Maple Leaf World School Program, which resulted in an upsurge in learning and promotion of the Maple Leaf World School Program within the Systems. Various forums, conferences and parent meetings organized by each school further explained the characteristics, advantages, and values of Maple Leaf World School Program internally and externally.


In October 2021, the Maple Leaf World School Program Signage was officially released, and all Maple Leaf schools posted new school signage posters simultaneously.


In March 2023, the Maple Leaf World School Flag and the revised Maple Leaf School Song were released. The new school signage, flag and song reflect the positioning of Maple Leaf World School Program, which is locally rooted, integrates the best of East and West and has an international perspective.

Promotion to the International Education Sector


The key tasks of this stage were to organize press conferences, keynote presentations and seminars to explain to the international education industry, academia and all sectors of society, the significance of the transformation of Maple Leaf World School Program so as to obtain their recognition and support.


To ensure the academic quality and high standard of the Maple Leaf World School Program and promote it to the academic and educational sectors, Dr. Sherman Jen decided that Maple Leaf Educational Systems should host seminars with the theme of "National Strategy, Maple Leaf Action"; and invited Chinese curriculum experts, government officials and people of insight to participate in the discussion.


On 22nd May 2021, the first seminar of Maple Leaf World School Program was held in Shanghai. Since then, five seminars have been held in Shenzhen (June 26), Tianjin (September 25), Yiwu (October 21) and Haikou (October 23). Dozens of domestic experts, professors, government officials and associates participated in the discussions. They gave their full recognition to the Maple Leaf World School Program and put forward relevant suggestions and willingness to help promote it.

  • Zhang Minsheng, former Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, President of Shanghai Education Society and National Inspector of Schools, commented that: Maple Leaf Educational Systems has developed its own curriculum system and obtained international accreditation, achieving a breakthrough in international curriculum with Chinese characteristics, which is far-reaching. The Maple Leaf curriculum’s goal and objectives, the development and design concepts of leadership and creativity courses are valuable and deserve more attention and support.


  • Liu Baoli, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week and former Deputy Director of the International Department of the Ministry of Education, said that the development direction of Maple Leaf World School Program was clear, which conformed to the strategic goals and tasks of education development in the 14th Five-Year Plan of China, faces the future, and conform to the trend of Chinese culture and the technological development of the Times. With its distinctive characteristics, Maple Leaf Educational Systems has innovated and constructed a unique international curriculum that blends the best of east and west and is open to the world, which is suitable for both Chinese domestic students and international students.


  • Han Xiaoyu, Director of the Foundation Education Department of Hainan Provincial Department of Education, pointed out that the Maple Leaf World School Program responded to the major national educational strategic needs, adapted to the development guidance and direction of China's international education in the new era, and conformed to the diversified and selective new curriculum concept advocated by the curriculum reform of public high schools in China.


  • Professor Wu Gangping of East China Normal University commented: From bring-in to self-innovation, Maple Leaf World School Program was consistent with the process of national reform and opening-up, reflected the concept of internationalization and Chinese cultural awareness, and represented the direction of Chinese education to spread to the world.


  • According to Wu Hua, a professor at Zhejiang University, the Maple Leaf World School Program has three levels of significance. First, it reflects the national cultural strategy; Second, it demonstrates the innovation ability and achievement contribution ability of China's private education, setting a positive example for private schools; Third, it broadens new channels for Chinese culture to spread, and provides an optimization model solution for English curriculum, Chinese culture and Chinese language teaching standards to go to the world.


  • Lu Xiaozhong, Executive Vice President of Guangdong Education Association and Dean of Education Development Research Institute of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, South China Normal University, believes that contemporary China needs an international curriculum with independent intellectual property rights. The Maple Leaf World School Program solves the problem of how to implement the international curriculum concept and practice with Chinese characteristics. He believed that Maple Leaf Education has stepped out of the right road.


  • Jin Yili, a special supervisor of the Ministry of Education, the Inspector of Guangdong Province and the president of Shenzhen Education Society, pointed out that the Maple Leaf World School Program was not only for Chinese students, but also applicable to students of other countries. It is an international curriculum system that reflects Chinese culture and world vision. In the past, international curriculums were brought in and Chinese students went out to the world. In the future, the Maple Leaf World School Program will be sent out to the world from China and international students will come into China. It has formed a "two-way" education exchange between China and the world, which is in line with the national strategy and the actual needs of Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.


  • Fu Weili, a special invited professor of Shenzhen University, pointed out that the Maple Leaf World School Program gave people the inspiration of curriculum innovation from three aspects. First, in the level of curriculum practice, it provides solutions for the integration of Chinese curriculum and other international curriculum; Second, it replaces the ranking of students' exam scores with leveled teaching and testing certification, which provides a model for the reform of student assessment system. Thirdly, integrating moral education, critical thinking and personal leadership courses into Maple Leaf World School Program is conducive to cultivating students' healthy personality, which is a significant breakthrough in the educational sector.
