Campus Safety

The MLWS-KPU campus in Richmond is a safe and welcoming environment, ideal for study. Maple Leaf ensures the well being of our students in many ways. Firstly, our staff work closely with all students in their homestays, classrooms and school facilities to ensure that they are well. We monitor the social and emotional well being of our students through daily communication and staff supervision. We connect with our families through a variety of communication channels while our student management systems shares student attendance and grade data with families in real time. 

In the case that students feel unwell, all students are insured by guard.me, an industry leading medical insurance provider which guarantees student access to on campus and community based medical services.

In addition, all our students have access the KPU Safe application on their phones. If ever they are unsure of their safety on campus, they can mobilize help, such as an escorted walk or find out what to do in an emergency through the app on their phones.



Maple Leaf Staff exceed Ministry of Education requirements for safety training. Our professional development planning for staff ensures that our school is ahead of the curve with respect to emergency planning and response.
