Maple Leaf Schools – TRU

The MLWS-TRU Student Union (MLWS-TRU SU) is a vibrant and important part of our school culture. Each year, we have a great deal of interest in the opportunity to serve as an elected member of this organization.

In the last week of September 2021, 11 students put themselves forward to compete for 8 elected, voting positions. All students who step up for election are guaranteed a Member-at-Large position in the SU. Each student prepared a campaign speech to outline their platform of intentions for the position they sought. Speeches ranged in length from 2 minutes to 20 minutes.

Our student union will provide leadership for our student body and help to shape the future of the school. They have already initiated online study competitions and games to engage their peers. They have already brought very strong ideas to administration in a number of areas.

Congratulations to Sun, Chenliang (Martin) who serves at the President of the MLWS-TRU SU in 2021-2022, and to all the great students on the SU this year.
